Darwin LNG – DLNG Life Extension – Obsolescence FEL3

The Darwin LNG Life Extension Project was instigated with its broad objective being to ensure the plant and subsea pipeline are ready for a potential backfill gas supply.  From January 2023, gas resource from Bayu Undan will have expired and the full liquefaction capacity of DLNG will become available for use by other gas suppliers. The Project addressed equipment obsolescence present in the existing instrumentation, control, electrical and telecommunication equipment at DLNG, that could prevent the plant from achieving its operational performance standards beyond 2023.
The intention is for the plant to be “refreshed” during a Transition Period so that it can reliably process the gas from a new backfill supply resource until the end of plant life (extended to 2050).
